Circumlocution
The use of many words where fewer would do, especially in a deliberate attempt to be vague or evasive.
Example
"Instead of giving a direct answer, the politician resorted to circumlocution, avoiding the controversial topic."
Etymology
From Latin circumlocutionem, from circum 'around' + loqui 'to speak.'
