Deceitfulness in speech or conduct by speaking or acting in two different ways concerning the same matter.
Example
"She was shocked by the duplicity of her supposed friend, who had betrayed her trust."

From Latin 'duplicitatem', meaning 'doubleness', from 'duplex' (double).
