To accuse or incriminate; to suggest that someone is guilty.

Example

"The newly discovered evidence seemed to inculpate the suspect, strengthening the prosecution's case."

From Latin 'inculpatus' (unblamed, innocent), but formed in English from 'in-' (into, against) + 'culpa' (fault).
